Welcome to the new face of Body Tune Physical Therapy and Wellness
Blood Flow Restriction Therapy, commonly called BFR therapy, is an advanced rehabilitation technique that helps patients build strength and muscle while using lighter resistance. At Body Tune Physical Therapy, BFR therapy is used to support recovery after injury or surgery while minimizing stress on healing tissues.
During treatment, a specialized cuff is applied to the arm or leg to partially restrict blood flow while exercises are performed with low resistance. This creates physiological changes similar to high-intensity strength training without placing excessive strain on joints, muscles, or surgical repairs.
BFR therapy is commonly used for athletes, post-surgical patients, and individuals who cannot tolerate heavy lifting due to pain or mobility limitations.
At Body Tune, we don’t believe in quick fixes. We believe in tune-ups—addressing movement patterns, strength, mobility, and recovery so your body can perform at its best for the long haul. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, returning to sport, or simply looking to move and feel better, our team is here to guide you every step of the way.
Your body is built to move. Let us help you keep it tuned for life.
BFR therapy may help:
Because lower resistance is used, patients can often begin strengthening earlier during rehabilitation.

BFR helps patients regain quadriceps strength while protecting healing tissues after surgery.
BFR can help improve shoulder muscle activation during rehabilitation.
Patients who cannot tolerate heavy strengthening may benefit from low-load BFR exercises.
Patients recovering from orthopedic procedures often experience muscle loss that BFR can help address.
Athletes use BFR to maintain strength during periods of reduced activity or modified training.
Low-load strengthening with BFR may reduce stress on irritated tendons while improving muscle function.
Patients often feel pressure from the cuff and muscle fatigue during exercise, but treatment should remain tolerable.
BFR allows patients to achieve strength-building effects while reducing stress on healing tissues and painful joints.
BFR is commonly used for post-surgical patients, athletes, and individuals with pain or lifting limitations.
